Privacy Policy

GrabMonkey is a desktop application that runs entirely on your own computer. We built it to respect your privacy, this page explains exactly what we do and don't collect.

The short version

  • The website collects no personal information and uses no identifying tracking cookies.
  • The app processes everything locally on your PC. Your links, downloads, history and files never reach us.
  • We never sell, rent or share personal data, because we don't collect it in the first place.

Information we do not collect

GrabMonkey does not require an account, email address or sign-in to download videos. When you paste a link or use the browser button, your computer connects directly to the source site and saves the file to your disk. We do not receive your video links, download history, saved files, IP-linked browsing activity or any personal identifiers.

License activation

If you purchase a Pro license, activating it sends a one-time, anonymous hardware identifier to our license server for the sole purpose of binding the license to your computer and preventing key sharing. This request does not include your name, email, files or browsing activity. The identifier cannot be used to personally identify you.

Local data on your device

Your settings, usage counter and license file are stored locally on your computer (under your user profile). This data stays on your machine and can be removed at any time by uninstalling the app.

Third-party sites

When you download a video, your device connects directly to that platform (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.). Those platforms have their own privacy policies and may log the request on their side, this is outside our control and is the same as visiting the site in a browser.

Website analytics

This website may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand overall traffic (for example, total page views). Any such analytics are anonymised and are not used to identify individual visitors.

Children

GrabMonkey is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
